A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I work at home on our cash crop farm.

2. Why do you make art?

My high school art teacher would sometimes play music during class. One day she played Neil Young’s first solo album and I had never heard anything like it. I asked to borrow the tape and when I got home I played it over and over again. Mesmerized by the way the music moved me I remember thinking I wanted to do something “like that” with my life. That is when I decided I wanted to be an artist.

3. What inspires you?

Nature and music.

4. What/who are your influences?

Right now, my friend and fellow artist, Bob Koval. Having a friend that I can talk to who is committed to his own studio work is priceless.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Chief Joseph, Mary Oliver and Meg White.
